On Wednesday 23 November 2016 SFTA held their Open English Springer Spaniel Trial at Bowhill, Selkirk under the first rate guidance of "Hawthorne Sporting's"shoot manager Mr Stuart Riddell and Headkeeper Mr Robert Riddell.
The day generously donated by Mr John Castle and his team of guns was mostly pheasant based.
Judging was undertaken by Mr and Mrs Openshaw and they found their winners as follows:
1st Mr M Huitson with Shallowoakquest Corona
2nd Mr L Fisher with Dawsonlee Ferdinand
3rd Duke of Buccleauch with Buccleuch Honey handled by Mr D Lissett
4th Mr S Charlton with Flaxdale Lara.
